But buying property in Phuket requires understanding the island's unique market, geography, and legal landscape.

Why Buyers Choose Phuket

Phuket offers something that Bangkok cannot: lifestyle. The combination of pristine beaches, year-round warm weather, excellent private hospitals, international schools, and a cosmopolitan dining and entertainment scene makes it genuinely liveable — not just a holiday destination. For retirees and remote workers in particular, Phuket has become one of Asia's most desirable permanent-residence destinations.

Property management companies on the island typically charge 20–30% of gross rental income for full-service management.

Infrastructure has improved significantly. Phuket International Airport serves direct flights from over 50 international destinations. The island has internationally accredited hospitals including Bangkok Phuket Hospital and Phuket International Hospital. Private international schools cater to expat families, and the road network, while imperfect, is navigable with a car or motorbike.

Is Phuket Right for You?

Phuket suits buyers who prioritise lifestyle, rental income, or a holiday home with investment potential. It is not the right market for those seeking fast capital appreciation — the Bangkok condo market historically outperforms Phuket for price growth. But for quality of life combined with a viable rental income stream, few destinations in Asia can match what Phuket offers.
